Solemn Stillness: Winter Solstice Yoga
Winter solstice marks the longest duration of darkness during our year. Solstice literally translates to "sun standing still." This practice honors the apparent stillness of the sun and the opportunity to create a sacred pause in our lives to create intention for the winter season.
This practice is purely restorative in nature and will comprise of restful pose after pose to support deep rest. The entire experience will be poetically woven together with guided meditation to support ease and release, culminating in a yoga nidra in which you will have opportunity privately set your own sankulpa (intention) for the winter ahead.
This practice is appropriate for all levels of practitioners to include beginners. There will be very little movement as this practice is Restorative. Recommended items to bring include a yoga mat and blanket.
